Stormy's Story

Ever wonder who our logo was inspired by?
It's none other than Stormaggedon, affectionately referred to as Stormy, Storms, or the OG.
While reflecting on our commitment to transparency and open communication, we felt it was important to share this little piece of our brand's story with you. It all began with a wagging nub that shaped so much of what Lucky Paws BCS has become.
Storms story started out being found on the side of the road, as a skinny 14 week-old pup. We saw his post on a Facebook group and after sending a screenshot to my then boyfriend we were at Petsmart picking him up (he looked like a puppy version of our older dog Rocket).
We quickly discovered he had a ton of quirks; including hating his kennel and any boxes in existence, and throwing anything within reach. However, after battling seizures and cryptorchidism, Storms developed a fear of strangers. We took him to Buddy’s Place Canine Behavior Training and she confirmed our fear; Storms had been severally abused before being found.
He was a constant presence during my pregnancies, offering comfort when I needed it the most. He loved his baby humans with his whole heart, giving them unlimited kisses whenever he was near them.
Unfortunately Storms never fully trusted anyone outside of our family unit, making it impossible to find consistent pet care.
In January of 2022 during an emergency visit to South 40 Vet Hospital we faced the devastating news of Storms cancer diagnosis. During his cancer journey we rebranded; honoring him with our logo, with many many thanks to Ment Marketing. Our hospice vet helped him live another 17 precious months. He was my companion, always waiting for his Starbucks stop. Until one day, he didn’t want to go. He passed away peacefully under his favorite tree 3 days later; with his favorite humans and hospice vet by his side. His legacy lives on in our commit to treat each and every pet in our care like our own; caring on his loving nature in every visit we perform at Lucky Paws BCS.

What a lovely story, full of love yet sadness – as life is.
Savannah – thank you for sharing this look at the life of Stormy. I can tell what a bond you shared from these photos, too.
